Description :
The general aim of the article is to define a relationship between the distance to core and a diverse level of modern technologies usage. Although the situation has been gradually improving lately, Poland, especially rural areas, is still backward in terms of modern technologies usage. Until 2008, over a half of inhabitants of Polish rural areas has never used the Internet. The Mazowieckie voivodship was chosen as an area of research. This region is distinguished by a clear relationship between the level of socio-economic development and the distance from Warsaw. A group of farmers was chosen as a subject of investigation. Over 1400 questionnaires were received from 19 different communes (in respect of their functional type, and situated in the different parts of voivodship). – (BJ)
