Description :
Székelyland is a 12,500 km2 area in Transylvania. Nowadays approximately 80% of its population declare themselves Hungarian. The A. tries to summarize Székelyland’s topography and hydrography, which had an important role in the establishment of traditional administrative units. The summary of the administrative geography is a cartographical synthesis. The maps for different dates, figuring in this study, are drawn by taking into consideration the settlement system and their approximate boundaries as they appear in contemporary documents. - (AM)
