According to the developed new theories, cartography could have been part of the science of communication, semiotics, linguistics, model theories and informatics. However, these theories have not become an integral part of cartography; have not built into the cartographic practice. Nowadays, the interesting question is that the online mapping services and communal mapmaking would require a new theoretical basis of cartography. The new expression called Cartography 2.0 was born in 2009. The A. hopes that the new concept of the changed practice of mapmaking and map usage will finally lead to the formation of a new cartographic theory. - (AM)
