In 2001, Jim O’Neill recognized the role of emerging countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) that had reached a fast economic growth. It is worth to take into account the role of these countries in connection with future of the global economy. These coutries were denominated by O’Neill – from their initial letters – as the BRIC coutries. According to the projections, the world economic role of the BRIC countries is essential as they may become the leading countries of the world economy over the next 50 years. Nowadays the BRICs are a kind of world economic joint interests. This study presents the development process from the theory of Jim O’Neill to the events of the cooperation. - (AM)
