The paper deals with leisure activities and their potential for the creation of social capital. Specifically, it focuses on leisure activities developed within voluntary associations, which are important actors inCzechia, especially at the local level. In addition to their potential for the creation of social networks and social capital, their existence reflects the quality of life in the localities. The study aims to assess the spatial distribution of various types of associations in Czechia in the context of broader socio-economical processes and changes. Special attention is paid to the dynamics of the formation of new associations in various types of regions. - (EN)
