The study discusses the relationships between ethnicity and nationalism and tourism on the example of Hungary as guest sender territory and the Hungarian minority in Transylvania as host community. Based on a multidisciplinary literature it analyses the nation-building efforts of Hungarian society and those of Romanian Hungarian minority, the ethnic determinants of relationships created in tourism and the possibilities of interpretation of ethnic tourism as a tourism product. Ethnicity is involved in the study for tourism geography because of its spatial-territorial relationships, but the topic highlights the transdisciplinary approach of tourism geography to study of cultural phenomena. - (AM)
