Nouvelles tendances du développement des petits villages

Auteur :
BALOGH, A.

Description :
The number of small villages has been increasing for decades continually with different intensity in Hungary. After 2001 this process became more intense compared to 1990s. More than one hundred new small villages have arised between 2001 and 2011, twice as many as in the 1990s. During the last decade the number of small villages with natural growth and positive migration balance has decreased and the population decline has speeded up in settlements with very low population. A further problem that big part of new small villages has disadvantageous socio-economic status. On the whole, the differentiation of small villages is significant. The socio-economic development rate of them, the life quality of the local population are determined by the geographical location. Consequently this situation makes it necessary to use a spatial methods and not the more traditional Hungarian branch-type development policies. - (AM)
