In the physical geographic region-classification of Slovenian-Hungarian borderland, which changed several times in the past century, the names of the natural and ethnographic areas are mingled. The inaccurate markings on official maps and the mistakes in the nomenclature of region-classification partly derive from this. The author intends to provide an overview of the geological background of the borderland and of the characteristics of its recent surface and landscape development. - (AM)
