Description :
This article analyses employment, entrepreneurship, and citizenship in a globalised economy through the example of the Chinese community in Prato (Tuscany). It shows that the number of Chinese clothing enterprises has increased rapidly, with an increase in the tensions between the two communities. It examines their roots in differing economic practices, regulatory frameworks, and cultural values, and considers the strategies of public authorities as they seek to improve economic performance, social integration, and political stability.
