Lapidarium w Żurawcu na Pojezierzu Drawskim, Pomorze Środkowe

Le parc-musée lapidaire à Żurawiec (Pojezierze Drawskie, Poméranie centrale)

Auteur :
GÓRSKA-ZABIELSKA, M.

Description :
Geoprotection in the Drawskie Lakeland is achieved by means of some 10-20 listed objects conferring protection upon inanimate nature. A recent addition to the list is a petrographic garden in the Połczyn-Zdrój area, which gathers together some 51 glacial erratics from neighbouring fields above all representative of the magmatic and metamorphic genetic groups of rock. It is with a view to describing the cognitive, educational and geotouristic role this new object is playing that the present article has been written. The inventory entry for each erratic includes its dimensions and weight, provenance and attributes as regards age, as well as an identification of petrographic type. Attention is also paid to examples of the impacts of morphogenetic processes that have modified the surfaces of the rock specimens. Details are given of plans for the establishment of a Geopark here, within which the petrographic garden would represent a valuable geosite. – (BJ)
