Aspects sélectionnés de développement du tourisme dans les parcs nationaux à la frontière polonaise

Auteur :
WIĘCKOWSKI, M.

Description :
The borderland areas make an ideal location for protected areas and tourism development. In most cases the national parks constitute very important tourist regions. To demonstrate the scale of tourism in national parks in the borderland the article presents and explains the amount of visitors in these areas. In Poland more than 8 million people visit twelve national parks adjacent to international borders each year (70% of the tourist flow in all national parks in the country). The type of border has an important infl uence on the development of tourism. The Polish borders with Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Lithuania after Poland’s accession to the European Union and to the Schengen Zone are changing their status, and come to existence as the fully open border. The borders of the national parks appear as the only barrier to free travel in the borderlands. -(BJ)
