The features of historically formed mixed ethnic structure in Intermediate Europe were brought to surface by economic and political changes of the 1990s together with the consequent social transition. It is especially true for the Balkans, an area with an intricate mosaic of ethnic groups. The main objective of this study is to present the ethnic structure of the changing Bulgarian society at the turn of the millennium. - (AM)
