The article discusses approaches of regional cultural landscape design and emphasizes their innovations (e.g. cultural landscape foundations, integration of the engagement of the civil society, specialist contributions on the cultural landscape). In order to gain experience with the design of cultural landscapes, the realization of demonstration projects of spatial planning seems to be particularly suitable. - (IfL)
