Description :
This study attempts to describe the geomorphic peculiarities of the Little Rann sedimentary basin, a unique terrain located in the southeastern part of the seismically active Kachchh palaeorift graben and represents the uplift floor of a former gulf. This paper deals with the tectonic influences on geomorphic characteristics and probable basement configuration of the Little Rann. The Little Rann basin is divided into 3 tectonogeomorphic zones : the Outer subbasin, the Central subbasin and the Inner subbasin. Geomorphic evidence from the Little Rann, including the islands, point to strong control of subsurface structural elements, which influenced the Holocene palaeooceanographic conditions and the marine sedimentation as well.
