Description :
The issue looks at some of the new faces of poverty. They have to be seen within the context of certain vulnerable groups which have emerged in response to local, national and global processes, and also new strategies aimed at alleviating and improving the livelihoods of the poor. Some include female porters, stone cutters, street vendors, Buruli ulcer patients, and HIV/AIDS orphans. They have taken on new dimensions as a result of informalisation of the labour market. Eleven articles.
