Description :
Taking an alluvial plain oasis in the northern piedmont of the Tianshan Mountains as a case study, the AA. investigate the effects of different land-use systems on soil properties. Major objectives of the study are to : 1) analyze the effects of land-use systems on soil particle distribution, soil organic matter and nutrients contents as well as salinity in the oasis; and 2) discuss the change in soil organic carbon and evaluate the rationality of human activities in the oasis.
