Description :
This paper examines potholes on the streambed at the head of a gorge 200 m deep. Statistic analysis of geometric features of the stream potholes measured in the field, combined with relate field observations, reveals the origins, formation and development of the potholes. The conclusion of the study can provide valuable information for improving the understanding of Quaternary environment in Guangdong.
