Various karst processes and karst phenomena at scales from the macro to the micro occur in the cryolithozone of the middle Lena River basin. Karst processes have a warming impact on the enclosing perennially cryotic rocks and favour the formation of intra-permafrost taliks at depths ranging from a few to several tens of metres.
