The aim of the study is to demonstrate that the geography has an important role in the analysing the spatial effects of the globalisation. The inefficiency of the regional development has been discovered, the differences among regions aren’t lessened nor in the European Union nor in Hungary. The role of states reduced in framing the regional disparities, while the role of transnational corporations became more and more important in the regional processes. - (AM)
