Description :
The article presents spatial distribution of water fl ow velocity in Vistula River bed. The study area covers the Vistula River reaching from km 533.000 to 542.000, i.e. between Warsaw and Modlin. The aim was to establish spatial distribution of water flow velocity in this river section for characteristic flow velocity in the period 1971-1983. CCHE2D model have been used, with the following input data: digital terrain model, average flow velocity, water level and bed roughness (0.035). Hydraulic parameters such as average velocity and average depth of the river have been calculated. Verification of the model consisted of comparing its predictions with the flow velocity measured by the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) and published in Hydrometric Yearbook. The results obtained are comparable with those actually measured. - (BJ)
