The paper aims at determining urban influence on some chemical proprieties of soil in six selected agglomerations of Europe and Asia: Utrecht (Holland), Göteborg (Sweden), Białystok (Poland), Saint Petersburg, Perm and Irkutsk (Russia). Research was carried out in podzolic earths, with natural lithogenesis and paedogenesis, with different genesis of sands. The established negative consequences of the city on the soil system include: increased content of heavy metals, acidifying of soils, and increased content of the exchangeable aluminium in exchangeable acidity, increased podzolization of soils. - (BJ)
