Contact with nature is an essential element of a young person’s development. It helps shaping sensitivity, sense of beauty and makes open to values other than strictly materialistic. A park can provide contact with nature in the urban environment. In this paper, the authors present their own, as well as their students’ development towards environmental awareness. It was possible through experiencing the biodiversity of the school’s nearby area, namely the North Park in Tychy. - (BJ)
