The paper presents fragments of the research held between 2005 and 2008 among secondary school students from 11 towns located on the Vistula River. The subject of the research was their perception of the River. Tested were: pupils’ associations with and knowledge about the river, as well as their awareness of its ecological and cultural value. The results allowed for conclusions related to school geographical education, defined as “education towards values”. - (BJ)
