Auteur :HILLMANN, F.
Description :
With an increase from 75 million to more than 191 million worldwide, the number of cross-border migrants more than doubled between 1960 and 2005. About 2.9% of the world population are moving internationally. In this regard the quality of migration has changed. Nearly half of all international migrants is constituted by women and their role is particularly emphasized by recent research. Besides North America and South East Asia, Europe belongs to the main destination continents of the world. With regard to this the question for a new European migration policy is more crucial than it had been before. - (IfL)
