Dynamique de la population dans les voievodies de Lodsk et de Swietokrzyskie au début du 21ème siècle

The paper presents a demographic analysis of Polish voivodships, with a focus on Łódzkie and Świętokrzyskie. The basis for the work was provided by statistics from the Central Statistical Office of Poland (e.g. as regards the population of Poland in the years 2002-2007 and the Polish population forecast formulated in 2008). Despite their central locations within Poland, Łódzkie and Świętokrzyskie voivodships have experienced a decline in their natural increases per 1000 head of population since 2002 (at rates of 3.2 and - 1.4‰ respectively up to 2007). This paper therefore seeks to explain the natural decreases in question, by reference to a dimensional analysis of population, structure as regards age, other vital statistics and data on migrations in Poland. - (BJ)
