Post-1930 directions to land-use changes in the Polish-Slovakian border region of the Małe Pieniny Mts. are presented, on the basis of research concerning archival topographic maps, contemporary panchromatic satellite data and an SRTM digital elevation model. Forest cover is shown to have increased markedly in the study period. While the directions to land-use changes were similar on either side of the Polish-Slovakian border, the changes occurring in each country characterised different slopes and elevations. - (BJ)
