Polish political space is usually divided in line with four main political options. The first division - the axis of interests - is closely connected with historical premises, while the second is rather defined as an axis of values. This article discusses spatial differences to electoral behavior across Poland, on the basis of results for the parliamentary elections of 2005 and 2007, and the presidential election of 2005. The available data provided for a statistical analysis of results, and then for attempts to account for spatial distributions noted. Considerations centring around socio-economic conditions were augmented by cultural and historical factors, these continuing to be very important in the shaping of Poland’s political space. - (BJ)
