Description :
This paper describes a case study of hazard related to an underground gypsum quarry at Moncalvo (Monferrato area, Asti, Northern Italy), where an underground quarry encountered a water-bearing fracture that emptied overnight, claiming only material damage. Results of the hydrogeological surveys and the speleological and geomorphological fiedwork. Discussion about this hypogene karst, completely invisible at the surface, making up extremely dangerous situations.
