Description :
The clay sample used in this investigation was obtained from the Nhamundá area, Amazonas state, North of Brazil, Amazon region. This investigation reports the use of original and modified smectite clays as alternative absorbents for extraction of toxic metal, which are commonly present in waters from a variety of sources and industrial effluents. For this purpose, the adsorption isotherms of Cr(VI) from aqueous medium at room temperature were explored, bearing in mind the influence of different parameters such as solution pH, metal concentration, and contact time.
