Conflict and contact : the humane city, agonistic politics, and the phenomenological body

Auteur(s) et Affiliation(s)

Description :
The paper puts forward a retheorisation of urban agonistic politics, using phenomenology to reground theories of agonism in a more explicitly spatial register. The A. theorises the city, in terms of its potential, in a utopian or humane fashion. The city is conceived of both literally and figuratively as a system for the proliferation of multiple publics, or multiple spaces and modes of appearance.
