The Sage Handbook of geographical knowledge

Auteurs :
LIVINGSTONE, D.N.
AGNEW, J.

Description :
This Handbook is a critical inquiry into how Geography as a field of knowledge has been produced, re-produced and re-imagined, largely within the Western traditions of the Anglo-American world. Comprising 46 specially commissioned chapters by 48 authors based in the UK and the USA, it is organized in three sections of unequal length. The first section provides a brief overview of the genealogy of Geography. The second highlights the types of spatial setting in which geographical knowledge has been produced. The third focuses on critical concepts and academic controversies. Each chapter is supported by a bibliography. - (HG)
