The article describes the first two decades of DVAG, the German Association of Applied Geography. The paper shows the development until the foundation of DVAG in 1950, the difficult beginnings, the introduction of diploma study courses of Geography in 1957 and the arrival of the diploma frame order of Geography in 1966, the road of emancipation and once again to fail the geographic unity organisation. - (IfL)
