Description :
The performance of natural grass strips on cropland runoff on the steep slopes of the Loess Plateau in China was investigated under simulated rainfall conditions. The objectives were: (1) to investigate the performance of grass strips in restraining sediment-laden flow with high concentrations on steep slopes; (2) to illustrate the effectiveness of grass litter or/and leaves in trapping sediment; (3) to analyze the relationship between sediment trapping efficiency and the particle size and flow characteristics, as well as the sediment trapping mechanism of vegetative filter strips.
