Description :
In this work the AA. describe the system used for sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas), which is one of the main crops under urban reclaimed water (RW) irrigation. A preliminary evaluation is carried out of the sustainability under irrigation with RW, which poses a number of restrictions, particularly regarding salinity, sodium and boron. For the purposes of the study, initially low-salinity soils in field plots irrigated for nearly a decade were studied in comparison with adjacent dry-farming fields. Both types of artificial arenados had coverings of basaltic tephra mulch.
