Description :
The aim of this research was to use 7Be as a tracer to partition the sediment removed from bare, hand-cultivated, loessal soil plots by either interrill or rill erosion processes and to estimate their proportions in (1) the total soil loss, (2) the deposited material in a depositional area, (3) the suspended sediment carried beyond the depositional area and, where practical, the temporal variation in these processes. Furthermore, the measured quantities of eroded material were compared to those derived by calculations based on existing models. Two adjacent experimental plots, A and B, were constructed in the field to receive 7Be fallout in Yangling County, Shaanxi Province, in the Loess Plateau region of China.
