Les AA. proposent un nouvel atlas de la Chine au 1:1,000,000ème à partir de l’analyse des images satellites, des cartes géomorphologiques, géographiques et géologiques. Ensuite, ils établissent un système de classification géomorphologique reprenant la géomorphogenèse, la morphologie, la micro-morphologie, les versants et les aspects ainsi que la composition des matériaux et la lithologie. Ils concluent par les systèmes des légendes qui couvrent la marge continentale et les fonds sous-marins.
