This article focuses on the socio-cultural dimension of marginality, using the concept of regional identity in a periphery, specifically in Sušice near Czechia’s borderlands. This means that both the consciousness of inhabitants in the region as well as the identity of the region itself are explored. Elements and processes involved in the formation of regional identity are discussed as a consequence of the regional development of the peripheral borderlands. - (EN)
