Inside the industrialized society there’s a spontaneous movement, opposing the building of large public works or installations of considerable environmental impact. This movement, called NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) has increased its visibility to media level and succeeded in reviewing or even in deleting the release of such works. These opposition groups want to play their part in local government’choices. To this purpose, the decisive role of the institutional media is to correctly inform the citizens in a transparent way and to listen to their reasons, in order to finally arrive to an unanimous solution. - (NF)
