Wpływ krakowskich cmentarzy na środowisko przyrodnicze

L'impact des cimetières de Cracovie sur l'environnement

Auteur :
ŻYCHOWSKI, J.

Description :
Investigations to show the influence of selected cemeteries in Kraków on components of the environment took in the contents of elements in the ground over burials, and in clover and fungi, as well as the ion concentrations present in groundwaters. The results were compared with the geological background (with measurements mate at other cemeteries in south-eastern Poland). Over burials a low content of elements were confirmed, while high iron ion concentrations in groundwater are indicative of a useful presence in deposits where the sorption of the products of decomposition is concerned. Relatively limited concentrations of pollutants reflect advantageous locations of cemeteries; the non-superficial nature of groundwater, the presence of absorbents in deposits, and the fact that the surfaces of cemeteries represent impervious and passable dehydration systems. – (BJ)
