The article presents the results of a good practice collection, which shows how the mobility in urban neighbourhoods can be improved with an integrated planning approach without impeding a sustainable development of traffic in the entire city and region, special for disadvantaged urban areas. For this purpose, the social, economic and ecological dimensions of sustainable traffic development in cities were considered. The article is a summary of a study which served as a specific background contribution to the Leipzig Charter on the Sustainable European City. - (IfL)
