Post-drainage ice dam response at Lake Merzbacher, Inylchek Glacier, Kyrgyzstan

Detailed GPS measurements on the ice dam and the analysis of Aster scenes from several subsequent years provide insight into the post-drainage dam response and the changed ice dynamic conditions. The ice dam acts as a calving front, especially during high lake levels. The influence of the lake on the glacier and especially the relation between ice flow and variation in lake levels are the focus of this paper.
