Older maps are one of the most important data sources for spatial analyses of the historical environment. For Triglav national park area were harmonised analogue maps, serial photographs, and digital datasets since the end of 18th century until present. Major drawbacks were uncommon map legends (and catalogues), different surveying and mapping techniques, poor informatin of map projections, and rough and diverse alpine area. Time series land use dataset was extracted and adapted with a backward editing method. The procedures for maps editing and quality assessment simplified decision-making of data usage for the further analyses. The study get clearer understanding of technical parameters and semantic properties of historical maps together with interpeted GIS-based land use datasets. - (IKR)
