Description :
A comprehensive study of the 2,305 snowstorms occurring east of the U.S. Rockies during 1950-2000 was performed. Maps were constructed of all storms. Various spatial and temporal aspects of these storms were then assessed. Spatial measures included the shapes of the storm outlines, their areal extent, and location frequency. The time distributions of the storms were also examined to develop a greater appreciation of how the frequency of these events varies over time.
