The primary scientific objective of the research here presented is : to identify in detail the tendencies of changes in forest associations in the particular regions of the country ; to explain - or at least to formulate the relevant hypotheses - what extremal factors are responsible for the changes taking place in forest associations ; to forecast the transformations of the forest associations in particular regions in the future. The practical objective is to accumulate the prerequisites for the determination of the recommendations as to the renaturalisation of forests, with special consideration of national parks and nature reserves. - (BJ)
