The inner harbor docks are often involved in processes of transformation, being involved in larger urban architectural renewals. The frequency of various cultural events hosted in big cities recently allowed to concentrate the renewal efforts and to promote the valorization of these urban areas on the waterfront. The case of Valencia, which in 2003 was chosen to host the 32nd edition of the famous America's Cup sailing trophy, whose regattas were held during the Summer 2007, is particularly interesting. The event allowed to intensify the processes and the strategies aimed at transforming the harbor area, which had begun in the 1980s. - (NF)
