Italo Calvino in an essay about Savona, published in 1974, not only describes historical centre of the Ligurian town, the harbour and the great iron-works at the food of Priamar fortress, built by genoese government in the place of ancient political and religious acropolis, but he expresses some ideas about rules that must be pursued in such description of a landscape or of a territory, showing marked interest in some crucial subjects of geographical epistemology. - (NF)
