Description :
As a central feature of the Spatial Planning Projection 2020, the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR) has prognosticated the population in the regions of the FRG. In comparison with the preceding projection, the Spatial Planning Projection 2015, as a major innovation the 440 counties of Germany were introduced as the smallest spatial unit. The authors describe that the demographic change will continue, but dynamics of growth, ageing and internationalization show region-specific particularities in this context. - (IFL)
