The article deals with the spatial impacts of the world exhibition EXPO 2000 in Hanover. The master plan of the EXPO area did not only cover the exhibition area itself, with the Hanover fair site as the core, but also the new Kronsberg neighbourhood. It is shown that Kronsberg has had a long history of changing development concepts and that the realization of the EXPO gave a reason for developing this new neighbourhood. Also, in other parts of the Hanover region EXPO has lead to a total modernization of the transport infrastruture. - (IFL)
