Description :
By monitoring the sediment deposition thickness in a recent permanent gully over a short (several months) and medium (several years) time span and by analysing and reconstructing the development and infilling of a nearby old, buried (several hundred years) gully under cropland, this study attempts to explain the evolution of large gullies under cropland from the short to the long term. The AA. aim to determine the time of incision and infilling of a buried gully (cut and fill cycle).
