Geomorphic response to historical agriculture at Monument Hill in the Blue Ridge Foothills of central Virginia

Description :
This study examines a site called Monument Hill located in the Blue Ridge foothills in order to better understand the long-term effects of historical agriculture on soil and streams. Linking historical records with datable materials and the ages of standing forest trees provides a chronologic framework within which hillslope and stream geomorphology and sediment/soil stratigraphy can be interpreted.
